Sierra Holland || Healthcare Oppression, Full Spectrum Doula,
Tuesday Mar 15, 2022
Tuesday Mar 15, 2022
Today I had the honor of chatting with Sierra Holland, an apprentice midwife, full-spectrum doula, childbirth educator, and reproductive advocate. Sierra had so much important wisdom to share with us on how to support marginalized people in healthcare better. We talked a lot about the oppression of families made up of LGBTQIA+ and nonbinary individuals, black indigenous and people of color, and other marginalized groups.
She also has a PhD in sociology, is a roller skater, and is one of the most interesting people I’ve talked to here.
After talking with her, I feel like a changed human being and can’t wait to share this conversation. Enjoy!

Hello, my lovely friends! This week we're finally back with another episode of The Unity Project, and it's one I cannot wait for you to hear. I interviewed Julissa Llosa Vite, a ceramic artist, ceremonialist, and educator working in NYC. Julissa shares their experience immigrating from Peru to the US as a little girl, which is a story that I still think about. We talked a lot about what it's like being a woman in a patriarchal society, and how to find a way to express ourselves freely while still staying safe. I thought about this interview for weeks after we talked, and am so honored to get to share it with you. Enjoy!

Coach Chris Rodriguez P2 || Soulful living, Embodiment & Church, Spiritual Abuse
Wednesday Oct 13, 2021
Wednesday Oct 13, 2021
I was so happy to welcome my friend Coach Chris Rodriguez back onto the podcast for this week's episode. With him being back and getting more time to talk, I was able to ask him questions that had stuck with me that I didn't get to ask in the first interview. A lot of that was around the church and responding to how toxic religion and spirituality have caused a lot of division between ourselves and our bodies.
If you enjoyed listening to us talk, check out Chris's new podcast Soulfully You to hear my interview over there next week. Enjoy!

Hello, people of the world. We are back! Today on the podcast I got to talk to Mason Mennenga, an aspiring theologian, podcaster, YouTuber, etc, about embodiment and religion. Kailey Andrews || Important Announcement, Vulnerability in Relationships
Wednesday Jul 07, 2021
Wednesday Jul 07, 2021
Hello, dear internet friends! This week was one of my favorite weeks here on the podcast because I got to talk with my lovely lady, Kailey, about how our relationships with our bodies have changed throughout the course of our relationship with eachother. There are a million and one things to be said about that, so processing it here was a lot of fun. We talked about what it's like processing trauma in therapy while having a serious partner, not being able to "hide", allowing ourselves to express our needs to each other, Kailey's autoimmune disorder, etc. Oh, and we had a pretty big announcement to make, so don't miss that ;) Enjoy!

Jonathan Parks-Ramage || "Yes, Daddy", Evangelical Trauma, Power Dynamics
Tuesday Jun 22, 2021
Tuesday Jun 22, 2021
Hello friends!
For this week's episode, I had the honor of interviewing an incredible author, Jonathan Parks-Ramage. Jonathan Parks-Ramage is a Los Angeles-based novelist, screenwriter, and journalist. His debut novel, YES, DADDY, is now available wherever books are sold. His writing has been widely published in such outlets as VICE, Slate, OUT Magazine, W Magazine, Atlas Obscura, Elle, and Medium.
On the episode, Jonathan gives us a peek into the world of writing his novel, Yes, Daddy, and how he used truth to write fiction. The book is an exploration of class, power dynamics, and the nuances of victimhood and complicity. Personally, I couldn't put it down.
He also shares his story about spirituality and talks about ways that the evangelical church is extremely harmful.
Incredible interview. Enjoy!
